About BBMKU

“Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University, Dhanbad” came into existence by the notification of the Government of Jharkhand dated 23rd March 2017, published as Gazette Notification No. 216 (Extraordinary) on 11th April 2017.

The foundation stone of the university campus was laid by the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Raghubar Das on 13th November 2017.

The university has 10 constituent colleges, 18 affiliated colleges, 25 B.Ed. colleges, 02 engineering colleges, 02 law colleges and 01 medical college spread across Dhanbad and Bokaro districts of Jharkhand, with its headquarters at Dhanbad.

The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses with 21 postgraduate departments, which include departments of Management, Education, Mass Communication, Art and Culture, Law, Foreign Languages, Life Sciences, Computer Science and Environmental Science and Disaster Management.
